As followers of Jesus, we believe we are not called to be served, but to serve and become servants. We do that by demonstrating a self-sacrificial love through serving those both in and outside the local church. It takes many hands to pull off the multiple gatherings and events that happen weekly around the church and every person makes a difference. We approach church as a family, and just like a family, we can all chip in to do our part.
Musical worship is something that we see as crucial to the life of a disciple of Christ. We believe that worship is such an important part of the kingdom of God and fostering a deeper intimacy with Christ in our faith. CFG prioritizes taking time to lift up the name of Jesus and sing his praises throughout our various ministries and services each week. Below you will find everything you need to know about the requirements for joining the worship ministry at CFG, playlists of songs we sing at this church, and masterclasses on how to grow in your musical giftings!
SUNDAYS // PRACTICES: WEDNESDAY 7 PM & SUNDAY 9 AM SERVICES: SUNDAY 10:30 AM
We have a vibrant and passionate community of musicians and singers who lead us in worship on Sundays. We have four different teams that rotate each week which means that every team leads our worship time once a month. Worship team members participate in a worship practice on the Wednesday night before they play in addition to practicing before the first service on Sunday morning. Following the Sunday morning practice, the team plays for the 10:30 am service.

However, we also have other opportunities for individuals to join the worship team at the church. We have a choir at CFG, teams that lead our Tuesday night prayer meetings, and teams for our worship nights! Additionally, we provide opportunities for the next generation to grow in their musical giftings through worship programs in both our children’s and youth ministry. If you are interested in finding out more about opportunities in our youth and children’s programs, please head over to their pages under the gather section of our website. However, young musicians are still welcome to audition for a spot on the general worship team or Tuesday night prayer worship team.

Please note we have a few basic requirements for anyone (vocalist or musicians) who is auditioning for the worship team:
6 months of regular attendance at CFG Church is required (exceptions may apply in special circumstances/based on past leadership experience)
Agreement with the vision and values of the church
Ability to commit to the times for practices and services/events (will vary depending on placement)
A commitment to Christ and a passion for musical worship

For a vocal audition please be prepared for the following:
Each audition will be around 15-20 minutes
We will begin by sitting down to talk about why you want to get involved in worship at CFG and your past experience with worship and music
You will then have the chance to sing one song of your choice (it can be any song that you would like)
We will then ask you to sing one of the worship songs that we send you prior to your audition. It will be a song we sing at CFG
Finally, if you are able to harmonize we will ask you to harmonize with one of us
For your audition, we can provide any of the following:
A speaker for a backing track
We can accompany you on either the piano or guitar while you are singing
If you would prefer, you can sing acapella
We can provide you with music or lyrics for any of the audition worship songs

For an instrument audition please be prepared for the following:
Each audition will be around 15-20 minutes
We will begin by sitting down to talk about why you want to get involved in worship at CFG and your past experience with worship and music
You will then have the chance to play one song of your choice (it can be any song that you would like)
We will then ask you to play one of the worship songs that we send you prior to your audition. It will be a song we sing at CFG
For your audition, we can provide any of the following:
A vocal accompaniment to your worship song
We can provide you with music or lyrics for any of the audition worship songs
If you play piano or drums we can provide the instrument for your audition (please reach out to us if you do not have a bass, guitar, or another instrument you are hoping to audition with for CFG worship).

We at CFG believe that when we are excellent at what we do, and when we take the time to grow in our musicianship, it allows us to focus less on the music and more on flowing together in worship. We want to be caught up in the worship when we play rather than getting distracted by trying to get the song right. One of the best ways we can do this is by knowing the songs well so we are not stumbling over the chords or the words. Prayer is resuming on September 9 at 7am! We have online prayer meetings during the week on Tuesdays at 7am and Wednesdays at 12:30pm via Zoom at the button below. We also have in-person prayer meetings on Tuesdays at 7pm and Sundays at 9:30am in the CFG Prayer Room.
