PRAYER 7

The G7 nations will visit Calgary, Kananaskis Country for this year's G7 talks. The G7 is celebrating its 50th year as a gathering of allied nations influencing government, finance and culture. This year's talks are pivotal within the growing tensions being experienced globally. Fear, anxiety, and worry are rampant as escalating global unrest seeks to capture many in its trap.

For this reason, as a response to the growing fear, CFG is going to host a series of prayer strikes, culminating in two days of prayer and worship during the G7 summit in June. I, your pastor, am calling upon our CFG family to pass the word and get involved in these various prayer and worship events. Isaiah prophesies of Jesus as Messiah, one who is "Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace"...and Isaiah tells us that the government will be upon His (Jesus') shoulders, and that the zeal of the Lord of Hosts will accomplish establishing Jesus' earthly rule (Isa. 9:6-7).

My dear CFG family and friends, though the G7 nations and their leaders, along with others who would seek to bring harm to our city, are all converging in Calgary and Kananaskis for high-level talks at the G7 table; Jesus in fact is calling the nations to his Table. These prayer strikes are our way of ministering prayer and worship in various places honoring the Lord's Table in this season.

Please join us. This is a critical hour for our city and nation. We are intentionally lifting up the authority of Jesus over fear and anxiety. I believe all will be blessed by these events, and who knows what Jesus will do in return. Amen!

G7 TRAINING EVENT

Street Ministry with Merle Doherty | 1-3pm | CFG Church (917 14th Ave SW) | Free

As the world’s leaders gather for the G7 Summit in Canada, we believe the Church is called to be present—not as protesters, but as peacemakers. While demonstrations fill the streets with noise and tension, we’re inviting believers to fill them with prayer, peace, and the presence of God.

Join us for a special Prayer Walking & Street Intercession Training led by Merle Doherty, a 30 year police veteran and 8 years as Chaplain for Disaster Relief @ Billy Graham Ministries with experience in high-stakes, high-tension events. This training is for anyone who feels called to walk the streets during the G7—not to take sides, but to take ground in the Spirit.

TRAINING INCLUDES

How to spiritually discern the atmosphere on the street

What it means to “be present” without participating in demonstrations

Walking in peace and authority, not fear or anger

Practical tips for street safety, communication, and prayer team coordination

Engaging with God's heart for the nations, leaders, and protestors alike

THIS IS NOT A CALL TO PROTEST. IT’S A CALL TO PRESENCE.

As the world watches, we’ll be walking—praying for peace, protection, wisdom for global leaders, and the love of God to be felt in every step.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons and daughters of God.” Matthew 5:9

Before the area closes to the public, we’re inviting intercessors, families, and churches to walk the land, lift our voices, and welcome the presence of God into this global gathering place.

Why We’re Gathering

As world leaders prepare to meet June 15–17 in Kananaskis Country, we believe God is calling His people to go before them in prayer. This isn’t a political protest or public demonstration—it’s a kingdom assignment. A Prayer Strike to release peace, wisdom, and righteousness from the mountains to the nations.

Let’s Pray Boldly

“Ask of Me, and I will make the nations Your inheritance…” Psalm 2:8

“Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10

We believe the prayers of the righteous matter—even in the highest places of earthly power. Come be part of this powerful, peaceful witness of God’s Kingdom at work.

Let peace walk before the leaders. Let His presence rest on this land.

JUNE 16-17

G7 Prayer Summit

9am-9pm | CFG

12-Hour Prayer & Worship Gatherings

As world leaders gather in our city for the G7 Summit, we believe God is calling His Church to take her place—not in the protests, but before the presence of the King. This is not a time to take sides in the debates of the earth, but to take our seat at the table of reconciliation with the Prince of Peace.

We invite you to join us for two days of continuous prayer and worship, as we lift up the name of Jesus over Calgary, over Canada, and over the nations of the world.

OUR MISSION

While streets may be filled with demonstrations and noise, we choose a different posture—peaceful intercession, Spirit-led worship, and Christ-centered unity. As global powers discuss their agendas, we’ll gather at heaven’s table, seeking God's heart for mercy, justice, and peace.

biblical vision

“And seek the peace of the city... and pray to the Lord for it, for in its peace you will have peace.” Jeremiah 29:7

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” Matthew 5:9

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” 1 Timothy 2:1–2

“Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10

Let’s be the praying Church. The worshipping Church. The peacemaking Church.

Let’s cover our city in praise. Let’s intercede for the leaders of the world. Let’s ask for heaven’s agenda to come. The world will gather in Calgary. Let heaven find us on our knees.
